Country Estate Crafters, LLC is a licensed General Building Contractor in the state of North Carolina. A General Building Contractor license is obtained by passing the exam, producing references, demonstrating construction experience, and verifying financial ability. Matthew Gunter was the qualifier for our license. This license, # 63264, can be verified at http://www.nclbgc.com/lic_fr.html.
Because Country Estate Crafters, LLC is a licensed General Building Contractor we can construct commercial and residential buildings of nearly all types. Our license is not to be confused with a residential general contractor who can only build residences. The General Building Contractor exam requires a wider scope of knowledge compared to the residential contractor exam. This broader range of knowledge is important when dealing with non-residential buildings and facilities.
The law requires that any construction project with a value greater than $30,000 be performed by a licensed general contractor. Those considering a construction project should ensure that they are interviewing only licensed general contractors of the appropriate classification for their project. To verify licensure use the link above. Laws pertaining to general contracting can be found at http://www.nclbgc.com/pages/LawNReg.pdf .
Because we are a recently licensed general contractor our individual project value is limited to $500,000, hence the “limited” classification. However, we can work on larger projects if we post a surety bond.
